Am trying to use the Mailing List program (found under CPanel, Mail). This thing is COMPLETELY not intuitive, and there isn't a help menu anywhere. I called LunarPages Customer Service, and after being on hold for over 20 minutes, the guy who picked up told me that he couldn't help me because this program is a 3rd-party software & that I'd need to contact the developer directly. Great... doesn't help, since there's no link or info. about the developer. I told him this. He then said maybe I could come here and get help from users. So, I am coming to the experts here (clearly, y'all know LunarPages better than their own tech staff). You're my last hope!

Here's the problem:

We want to set-up a mailing list, where we can send our customers promotional emails and info. about our services on a regular basis. HOWEVER, we don't want the customers to be able to reply back to the list -- we want it 'read-only' as far as they are concerned. How do we set this up? I can't seem to find any options for this... at least none that blatantly state "read-only option."

Just in case, can anyone recommend a software program that will: 1.) allow us to set up a mailing list as "read-only," and 2.) allow us to have our own @company.com prefix as the list address (yahoogroups.com is out for this reason), and 3.) be relatively inexpensive (or free)? We're a really small company and can't really afford hundreds of dollars for software. I am hopeful that there *must* be an alternative for people like us out there on the world wide web. Recommendations?

MUCH appreciated!

PIERS, I do apologize for bad string of luck you have had as of late.  Looking this up for you right now, and I'll let you know once I find and answer for you. Smile  Just curious, do you remember the phone tech that told you that was?

If your looking for a list alternative, I would highly suggest checking into phplist too:

http://www.phplist.com/

You can install it from cPanel > Fanastico.  Thumbs Up
