Hi!

Now are at  Joomla! 1.5.1 Released (http://www.joomla.com/) but in fantastico still 1.0.13 version. When we can have a new version in fantastico?

When? When Fantastico gets around to picking up the new Joomla (when they're satisfied that it's stable and good), and then cPanel gets around to picking up the new Fantastico, and then Lunarpages gets around to picking up the new cPanel. In other words, LP does not pick and choose what shows up in Fantastico. It takes what's provided by others.

If you see the latest release from Netenberg on Fantastico, you can see they have included the latest joomla (joomla 1.5.1).

So the problem here is that you haven't updated your version of fantastico, or you have forgotten to include this new joomla. Since they now support both joomla 1.0.14 and joomla 1.5.1. Joomla 1.5.1 is added as a "new" installer to fantastico.

This release was released 21.02.08... So it's starting to be a while...

*Sigh.* Step 1 has been done: Fantastico has picked up the new Joomla. Steps 2 and 3 have not yet happened. Lunarpages does not pick and choose what's in the Fantastico section! Of course, you are always free to either upgrade your Joomla installation or uninstall it and manually install the desired version. In the former case, I can't promise that won't break future upgrades via Fantastico, and in the latter, Fantastico won't even realize that Joomla is installed.

I've noticed my Lunarpages Fantastico has been updated to include Joomla 1.0.15 (Fantastico version released on 3/9/08).  But I can't seem to find Joomla 1.5 (Fantastico version released on 2/21/08).  Am I missing something?

I hate to say this, but I'm afraid I might be jumping ship.

Reading the forums, it seems more people other than me are frustrated at the slow process of upgrading cPanel to include Fantastico with Joomla 1.5.  I know it's a long process, but when my submitted ticket response says they can't even give me a rough estimate, I get nervous.  It doesn't help when I check the cPanel demo sites for the top competitors, and they ALL have Joomla 1.5.  And I'm aware I can install it manually, and maybe I'm in the minority, but speed of updates in general is very important to me.

To Marti, et al.,

Look, if it's so important that you have the bleeding edge version of Joomla, you should upgrade manually to 1.5 and not wait until Fantastico upgrades and then cPanel upgrades and then LP upgrades. Otherwise, wait until it shows up here and stop complaining. It's getting tiring constantly explaining how the process works. It is in LP's interest (and the majority of its customers) to have proven-stable versions, rather than possibly unstable bleeding edge versions. Most LP customers are not terribly computer literate, and are looking for useful tools, not a new hobby. Once Joomla 1.5 has proven its chops, I'm sure it will show up in Fantastico/cPanel.
