I'm hoping that someone has ideas on how I could troubleshoot the following problem:

I have a new dedicated server with WHM/CPanel. I set up a user through WHM, from which my web application is able to send outgoing mail. However, when I send e-mail to the only account set up (which is also the default account for the domain), I get a bounceback as follows:

Action: failed
Status: 5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox)
Remote-MTA: dns; churchandpeople.com (216.227.222.181|25|172.31.5.110|47208)
Last-Attempt-Date: Wed, 8 Feb 2006 01:17:26 -0500
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 (message to verify they are valid.")

Does anyone have suggestions?

What was it? Did you set the default to

:fail no such address here

instead of

:fail: no such address here

? That sometimes happens.

You can check the logs for clues most of the time.

If you could let me know what it was, so that I know next time a customer asks (without having to run loads of tests), that would be handy.
