Hello,

How comes and the server vanishes email forwarders
and subdomains with unpredictable frequency, I've
been pondering.

Either cPanel is unreliable, the server misconfigured
or I've been eating too many resources with scripts.

It crashes lately every 10 days or so - thank Lord it's not
made to be a meteorite. Thankfully, the Lunarpages support
is always robust and promptly intervenes to solve all problems
to this date.

What precautions should one take to avoid missing crucial
data, like email forwarders or subdomains - and what causes this havoc.

Abhilash please cast your magic spells here
because I'm tampered by the demonic server.

I am thinking of leasing another server as
I feel "backed up" by LunarPage's crew,
yet I fret to the idea of getting consumed
by such nightmarish problems in the future.

Thanks!
George

Hi George,

As you may have noticed, we moved your account to Sputnik, when your main cgi script caused load issues. Though it acts normal most of the times , it gets out of control once in a while which may be the reason for the server getting crashed often. Howeve, since you have opted for managed  dedicated solutions, we should be able to investigate the matter more closely.

Regarding the vanishing forwarders and subdomain, would you please be able to let us know the issue in more detail ? Where is it disappearing from.. ? from Cpanel or from the server's configuration.

Forwarders disappear from the Cpanel doesn't always mean that they are lost Smile When there is change in ownership or when the ownership is lost, forwarders wont display properly. You may also notice that you wont be able to re-add them even. In such case either contact us or make sure that the subdomain or domain entry is there in /var/cpanel/users/username similar to "DNSx=sub.domain.com" where x is a numeric. I hope this helps.

Ah, OK that sounds soothing.
I didn't attempt to send and receive emails, just cPanel didn't display forwarders.

Well, these are optimistic News - thanks Abhilash!
