I wish I could say we are happy with our choice to go to lunar pages but we are not.  We purchased a Business plan and came to LP when our old host service expired.

Since we have been with LP, we have experienced more outages on Server, Site slowness, server not available and numerous (I MEAN NUMEROUS) MySQL Server has gone away Error 2006.

I have listed these errors with descriptions of why from the MySQL website as well as my Forums Tech Support Main Pages.  Our backs are against the wall, we are a Non Profit 501c that lives and breaths on if our users can access our site.

Support has been almost impossible to get an answer and never answers on weekends, this goes against the 24/7/365 policy of our business plan

I sure hope the CEO of this company reads these, and I sure hope this gets posted and stays there.  We came to LunarPages because I have other websites here on shared hosting plans with virtually no reason to call Support

But No I have issue on the other sites and I experiance the same Cutomer support responses that are for a lack of better words laughable

Signed
Disgruntled

Sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience thus far - do you have any current on-going issues that we might be able to help you with?

I thought I would chime in here, for a second, to say that I don't think that just because you made a very public expression of your ability to help things that it really makes up for the problems that leads someone here to complain like this in the first place.

Do you honestly believe that someone should have to post in a public forum just to get support issues addressed?  If so, your ticket system should automatically post everyone's tickets here!!!

AndrewD
I am not calling this over at this point,  But I will add that since you have moved our site, we have recieved only 3 MySQL Server has Gone away Error 2006
I can say that is far better then the 8 - 12 per day.  I have yet to experiance a Server Time out however the server was slow as Frozen Snot on a Popcycle the other day, It has cleared and server load is back to what we know is normal Load:  0.84,1.13,1.30 and our Site software reporting Server Load Averages 0.89  1.12  1.29

Still Monitoring, I will also add this, I work in a TAC enviroment for a Voip company, my engineers, I make sure if and when a web case is intered, the first tech taking it is owner and works it to the end.  It seems that this is not the case at Lunarpages.  I have multiple techs giving me information and I know they never read the entire trouble ticket.  Case in point, I updated the Ticket after Andrew helped me and another Tech picked up the ticket and advised me it might be best I look into a dedicated server  Confused Proof this guy never read the Ticket, Proof he had no clue as to what the issue was and who was working the ticket.  This is a problem to me, I do not like having to send a ticket on the web when I am paying a nice chunk of change for a Buisness account.  I can understand if I am paying $6 a month, but not the rate I pay.  As a 501c we have to manage our finances and keep close tabs on this, tossing $500 a year for Hosting service and then having to go through this! Yes I agree dihakz its bad form.

You do have to give credit here to Lunarpages, the thread did not get deletednor has it been moved and it is still here for all to see, that is, in itself for me a testiment that Lunarpages is at least trying to live up to its rep and not hiding any dirty laundry.
AndrewD was helpfull curtiuos and helpfull, he understood the issue I was having (Both with Support and with the Site) and he took action.  Thats a plus even if I had to air this on a public forum...

The jury still remains out

I just wanted to add that it is not required to post your problem here, if you would like to be called by an admin. Just request that in the ticket, provide the phone number and the best time for call and you'll be called.

You May want to add that little bit of information in the ticket process  Thumbs Up
