Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me.  If this isn't the right place to post this, please feel free to tell me!

I just recently launched my first website.  I had the template designed for me, but I'm having a slight issue with it, and I'm not hearing back from the designer.  Since the site is already launched, it's driving me crazy to go to the site every day and see this mistake.  If you look at the top right hand buttons, you'll see there are 2 lines besides Stories, and none beside Resources.

I'm hoping this is something easy to fix.  Can anyone help??  And if so, what info do you need?

Here's the site: www.fussybaby.ca

Thanks!  Holly

Oh, and here's (I think) the relevant code:

Hi fussybaby,

The problem is not in your code, but in your images.  template_13.gif with articles has the line after the text, template_14.gif with stories has the line ahead of the text, and template_15.gif with the resources text has no line.  If you correct the template_14.gif to put the line after the text, your problem should be solved.

I'm squinting at Template 13 (with the word Articles) and I think I'm seeing two lines. Does anyone else see two?

If that's it, you could put Articles after Stories and before Resources, because Resources has none.

I'm not seeing two, but you could be right drilldown. My eyesight isn't what it used to be. Your solution would work if there are two lines (one before and one after the text). If not, then the images themselves need to be fixed.

I checked some of the other images and the line is before the text on each of them. Which would mean that the Articles image needs to have the line removed after the text, and the Resources image needs to have a line added ahead of the text. - if you want to keep everything in the same order they are in now.

I know what you mean, same here! Soooo Cool

I used Web Developer to outline all the images. What I THINK I'm seeing is that the first and last buttons have no lines. Between those, About, Causes, Coping, Forum, and Stories all have one line on the left edge of the image. Articles is the only one with a line left and right. I think...

Maybe this was created by slicing a big image? Could crop the right line off the Articles image 13, (as if conformity mattered).

Personally, I'd use text instead of images and style it to look the same with CSS. Then I could tweak the anchor text as needed, whenever the itch to tweak overcame me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I really appreciate you two looking at it for me.  Now my question is....how do I go about doing that?  Speak to me as if I'm dumb Smile  The order of the buttons is not that important so I don't mind moving them around.  when I went into the code to try and move them aronud I ended up with something very weird looking, likely because I know nothing about html!

The easy way to switch them is to go into your code where it says

Code:
    <td width="72">
           <a href="Articles.html"><img src="images/template_13.gif" alt="" width="72" height="41" border="0"></a></td>
<td colspan="2">
           <a href="stories.html"><img src="images/template_14.gif" alt="" width="54" height="41" border="0"></a></td>

And change it to

Code:
<td colspan="2">
           <a href="stories.html"><img src="images/template_14.gif" alt="" width="54" height="41" border="0"></a></td>
    <td width="72">
           <a href="Articles.html"><img src="images/template_13.gif" alt="" width="72" height="41" border="0"></a></td>

That should switch your Articles and Stories links.  All I really did was copy the line for the Stories link and put it ahead of the Articles link.

Thanks Fretnmore!  I did what you said, and it for some reason made the page containing the editable content wider, throwing everything off.  Sigh.  I've emailed the designer again to ask her to redo it.

try this

Code:
<td width="54">
           <a href="stories.html"><img src="images/template_14.gif" alt="" width="54" height="41" border="0"></a></td>
    <td width="72">
           <a href="Articles.html"><img src="images/template_13.gif" alt="" width="72" height="41" border="0"></a></td>

I took out the colspan.

That worked then and didn't make you have to fiddle with code.

I'm glad she fixed that for you.

Looks good now!
