I've been using Dreamweaver with LunarPages since March, but suddenly I can no longer see my files on the remote server. I can see httpdocs/ - but that's it! I do not have "Use Passive FTP" checked.
I'm using Dreamweaver 8.
I would appreciate any help with this! Thanks so much!

Hi karatekid, on the right panel near the bottom, there is an area with "files, Assets, Snippets." Under the tab "Files" there is a drop down menu with things like local disk, remote disk, and a list of your sites. Is your site selected there?

Yes, I can see my local site, and this was all working fine until a couple of days ago when I couldn't connect at all. I spoke with Customer Support, and they said they had lost my password settings, so they reset them for me. Now I can connect to where I can see httpdocs, but I can't see anything in the folder. When I try to FTP, it won't allow me to. LunarPages has not been helpful at all. They just gave me links to pages with no information on them, and told me to try this forum! Very disappointing Customer Support! I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thank you.

Just groping here, trying to understand what happened. When they reset your password, then you updated it in Dreamweaver to match, right? (As in: Site>Manage Sites>Edit>Remote Info>Password)

Yes, that's what I did. They tell me they are able to FTP to my site when they try in a separate FTP program. I haven't tried that yet. But even if I can, I want to use Dreamweaver! This happened to me once before, and it was because i had "Use passive FTP" checked, but I definately do NOT have it checked now!

Okay, good. I don't blame you that you want to use DW, seems reasonable. From your answers, so far you've not fallen into the DW potholes that have tripped me up at times. Beyond those, I'm guessing.
When I upload from DW8, I see two columns. on the right is the local site, showing the path on my computer and a list of folders and files. On the left side, I see the remote site. The first folder I see there is public_html/ and under that my folders and files. My remote files are in public_html/
Where I'm looking, I'm not seeing httpdocs. Where are you seeing httpdocs, on the left? Is that a name you gave one of your folders? If so, is there a plus sign to its left? When you try to upload, specifically what error message do you see in Dreamweaver?

My files are asp, not html, so they told me to use httpdocs/ as my main folder.

Ah, I see. Logically, it would appear that support was trying a separate FTP as a sort of 'process of elimination" to sort out the possible source of the issue. Can you get into your files through the file manager in cPanel? It might be helpful if you search the forum for "asp FTP Dreamweaver" to read the previous threads, like this one: http://www.lunarforums.com/index.php/topic,34833.0.html

When you have dreamweaver open, have you attempting pressing F8? Then you should see a drop down box that you can change to local / remote files. If still having issue, can you provide a screen shot of your dreamweaver so we can see what you are seeing? ( may need to use a picture host to upload, then send us the link, www.darkwolfpichosting.com is a good one )
