And to add to my previous post (which after testing it again, you do have to remove the background color tags in your html and only have them in your CSS):

http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=34451.msg259537#msg259537

This:

Code:
style="background-color: #000000"

Should also be removed as well as your bgcolor="#000000" tags.

Here's an example with all of those removed from the html page --> * link removed as it is no longer needed

Nope, right forum  Smile

I'm referring to the example links (click on the "Click Here" parts) of this following post on the first page of this thread:

http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=34451.msg259490#msg259490

And let me know if you see the gaps or not. Sorta how James replied but with your answers on how you are seeing them  Smile

Is your screenshot showing the very bottom-most part of each page(s)? Cuz if it is, then your browsers are cutting off the bottom of the page (you don't show the copyright info on your first example - the "index2.htm" page).

Ah, I see. I thought that maybe you were referring to the DOCTYPE thread elsewhere. The first link (oxsley) shows a 10 pixel or so band of color (brown? olive?) on the bottom, while the second (leighsww) has no band. Both have a vertical scroll bar. The browser is FF 1.5.0.6.

Phil

P.S. some mentions of 'missing copyright' above prompted me to go back and double-check. Both versions have the links to other pages and the copyright statement. However, oxsley (first link) has a great deal (maybe 300px) of blank before the bottom of the black band (and the colored band below it), while leighsww (second link) has much less wasted space below the copyright -- maybe 100px or so.

Well you and SteveW handled that DOCTYPE thread (http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=34449.0) perfectly Big Wink, so since I didn't have anything more to add of any value, I didn't feel I needed to post there (if that's the DOCTYPE thread you are referring to) Smile

Okay, thanks Phil and Ryan for the confirmations  Thumbs Up (you too, RandyT, even though you almost drove me to think I was going insane, lol Surprised )
