I can't connect Dreamweaver to a remote database on my host. While the ftp connection works fine I get an error 404 if I try to connect the database.
Any suggestion?

Have you gone back to double check your connection setting to make sure that everything is as it should be?

Are you on a windows hosting plan?

Currently the windows hosting plans do not support remote connections to database.

If you are on a linux hosting plan, from withing the MySQL Account Maintenance   area, you will want to verify that you have in the Access Hosts section:

%
and
localhost

Also, you may need to place in your ip address (www.whatismyip.com)

If none of these work, submit a ticket to support@lunarpages.com providing the following information:

Primary domain name:
Database name:
Database username:
Database password:

And make sure to mention you are using dreamweaver.

Well, I have done all this and more with my dreamweaver-mysql database issue and after many backand froth email with re-explaining and giving connect information over and over they referred me back to this forum.

Next client I set up I will research hosting servers with more knowledge... this sucks

Could you give me your ticket number and I would be more than happy to investigate the issue from there to make sure all that can be done has been done to get your problem taken care of.

Nevermind, just found your other thread here:

http://www.lunarforums.com/lunarpages_dreamweaver/can_i_please_get_to_the_bottome_of_this_mysqldreamweaverdatabase_connection_is-t50798.0.html;topicseen

Will be looking into this in just a few minutes...
