I'm lost oscommerce

New to Lunar and am LOST. I use plesk not cpanel. I have gotten as far as downloading oscommerce to my computer. I think I have it installed in plesk (I have the button and I can go to databases - webadmin - php my admin and it looks like where you go to change the looks of osc).
Please don't laugh but I have real simple questions. How do I make this live. Do I need to add a template to make a store or is oscommerce a store. It looked like one. I've never had an ecommerce site before just simple html sites.
I have a limited budget but would be willing to pay someone to get this thing up and running for me and I believe if you show me from that point I can get my items in it and go from there. I want to install digital items to sell.
I had bought a script (actually 2 scripts) paid for installation of one and then the guy says "I can't install it because you use plesk not cpanel". Didn't get my money back though. It was an ebook turnkey script. I figured I could replace the ebooks with my digital art, etc. As I stated above that didn't work out. Can't even find someone that will install it. So I thought well I'll go the oscommerce and build my digital art site. "It AIN'T going well"! I'm so lost I forgot how I got HERE!
Thank you and would greatly appreciate someones HELP.
The other question I have is AGAIN please don't laugh. I signed up for windows hosting because I use xp. Could I have signed up for the "other" option that uses cpanel -- would that work. It seems much easier to use oscommerce with the cpanel than plesk.
Sorry to be such a dummy,
Linda

You didn't need to use the Windows hosting just because your home PC is XP. You could use Linux (Basic hosting plan) just as easily. It's cheaper and far better than Windows. Why don't you talk to Lunarpages about switching servers and changing hosting plans? It should be very little or no cost to change you over. If you have anything of value on your Windows site already (emails, etc.), see what the procedure is to move it over to a Linux server.
cPanel includes the "Fantastico" scripts library which in turn includes osCommerce. It's a "one click" installation for you. You will have a working e-Store when it's done installing, ready to start loading in products. No additional templates are needed. I'm sure you could install one of the other scripts instead, if you wish.
