Do I have to get a merchant license?
Is maintaining a site on LP my job or theirs?
Look - all I want to do is put my stuff on a site, and let people buy it so I can ship it to them, like you are doing.  Is it that big a headache, though??
Thanks for helping me get started -

Well, fool, first thing is you don't know the difference between a choice and dragging an icon, sheez.  I'd say you need real help.

Hi, Chief. Like all good things, some work is required. You can go for one of those mall shops based on templates with little control but little needed from you such as at Mal's Ecommerce, http://www.mals-e.com/ Setup is fast and easy. They take care of the cart for you.

If you do want more control, then you should install one of the shopping cart scripts we offer in Fantastico. Oscommerce is the most popular. You can find lots of help with it at http://oscommerce.com or here in our forums. They have forums at http://forums.oscommerce.com Lunarpages would not maintain the site for you. That would be your responsibility.

For payment, you can start with Paypal which is pretty easy to setup and cheap when just starting out. There are others as well.

You should check license and sales tax requirements where you live. If you really get into this and get big, you should consider setting up an LLC company for protection, tax benefits, and to qualify to buy stock wholesale. A licensed sole proprietor can also qualify for wholesale purchasing. Nolo publishes good books on this stuff.

If you don't have a lot of different items, you can do something as simple as create some basic web pages and add Paypal Buy Now buttons to them.

Of course there is always Ebay too. Very Happy
