Hi Everyone,
I went thru installing Apache server,php5, Mysql and Perl to work on a oscommerce on my xp computer at home as I heard it would be a lot quicker than uploading and downloading...
I decided to try to backup and restore before I went too far...I ran into trouble I believe it is the databases do not understand where the backup came from...
Question I have is ,,,Can I download my original store from the server to my home database and back when ready ?

And is there anyone who has done a backup and restore to your site or backup from your site and restored to your home server and any thing I should know to get going successfully???
Thanx for any info....in advanced..

Yes, you could work on the script locally and when all is done you should be able to upload all the files and the databases to your hosting account. I suggest you to locally coding all applications using the same environment before uploading them. So try (as much as possible) to use the same version of PHP, Mysql on your local computer as the versions installed on ths server.

I hope it helps!  Yep
