What if you want to send customers to PayPal for payments, from Cube Cart?

Cube Cart collects all the shipping information and requires customers to register before- hand, but shouldn't cutomers typing in their address and phone number for registration purposes be done on an SSL connection?

If this is the case, then how do I deactivate that part of Cube Cart that requires people to register so that once they go to checkout from the cubcart shopping cart it will immediately send them to Paypal.

Thankfully, Reess Kennedy.

Reess,

We've been having a discussion about this over in the Security forum ("When is SSL needed?"). The consensus seems to be that it is safe to send form data to a secure site (https://), although I'm waiting for some more input before declaring this position final. So, you can collect data on a page put up by an unsecure server (http://) and have action= send it to a secure server (https://), and it will be encrypted. I have not thoroughly tested this, and you may have problems mixing PHP and SSL on shared servers. If PayPal's server is secure (https://), your data should be encrypted. Be sure to test this before opening it up to customers, and maybe talk to PayPal. Your biggest problem may be in assuring customers that their data is safe when they don't see that padlock or intact key in the browser!
