I bought a eCommerce site from another source and simply downloaded all their files and then uploaded it all to mine but it's not cut and paste, not that I thought it would be.

Is there a step by step to doing this somewhere?

I am new to this but would like obviously to have this up and running correctly in the least amount of time.

Thanks

Where did you buy it from?  I could contact them first to see if they may have a step by step guide as to what needs to be done to get it installed and running.

Good idea, I will contact them and ask that question.

Thanks

Well, as partly expected, they told me that since they no longer look after it, they don't have anything to do to help me.
So I am looking for a FAQ on the SQLdatabase and set up of the store.

Hmm, well that isn't exactly friendly... what is the URL you purchased it from?  Might be able to comb around from that to find some things out.  The problem you will have is that there is no one set way on how to do this.  Each script out there has it's own way of doing things and getting installed.

Also you might check your download to see if there was a help file, faq or install instructions in there.

I checked all over and it looks like (as I am learning this week) that they installed a version of osCommerce but not in the root directory.  My questions are now becoming related to running the osCommerce section and sql so I will bring them to the correct forum area.  Thanks for your help on this one though.
