I am trying to replace my frontpage website with one using Expression Web and all compliant code anticipating the day when frontpage extensions will be a thing of the past.  All is going fairly well with replacing shared borders with the equivilant in a dynamic web template although I am a slow learner.  However, I have reached a dead end in trying to figure out how to duplicate the sliding text marquee I have been using for my header and company name.  Is there any easy way to do this without frontpage?  I don't want to use anything that will require viewers to OK Active X before they can even open my site.  Any thoughts?

Some Javascript text effects should help. See here http://javascript.internet.com/text-effects

Maybe search for marquee.

FrontPage has been discontinued.
If you plan to stay with FrontPage, consider upgrading to FrontPage 2003 now.

Search the Microsoft KB for error messages:

I'm not sure I am smart enough to do this.  Frontpage was so nice in that it handled all of that stuff without the user needing to know anything.  Since I have so much more that needs to be done in updating every page (about 300), maybe I will just leave the marquee alone for now.  Will that work?  Will I still be able to upload everything with everything but the marquee changed using Expression Web?

I believe that if you have the FrontPage server extensions installed in the server, all of your FrontPage webbots should continue to work in Expression Web. You just can't add new ones to the pages.

That is GOOD NEWS!  Maybe then I can just update my pages as I work on them instead of having to finish the whole site first - which will probably take me a year!
