My computer won't let my FRONT PAGE 2002 files be  SAVED or PUBLISHED to the web.

The messages I get whenever I try to SAVE or PUBLISH files is this:

"Server Error" The server extensions were unable to access the file.

or

c://mydocuments/mywebs/no1starwoman/_vti_pvt/service.ick.  Please check file permissions."

Some HELP with this would be GREATLY appreciated!

There's a Microsoft KnowledgeBase article on this, although they refer to sites running on IIS servers, not Linux. Suggestions are to access the site using Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer and clear the read only attribute on the file or to delete the file.

You may need to uninstall then reinstall the extensions.

Thanks Rick,

I will give your suggestion a try.

I did notice that the vti, derived and pvt file folders are not as dark on my computer as the other files.

I have cleared the read only attributes on the files. I still can't Save or Publish my files. The message I now get is:

"Authors-if authoring against a webserver, please contact the webmaster for this server's site.  Webmaster, please see the server's system log for more details".

"the server extensions were unable to access the file: c:/......................................../vti-pvt/service.Ick." Please check file permissions.

Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall FrontPage extensions @ Lunar pages??
