I have this problem intermittenly. I always use frontpage to create, edit webpage and they were doing very well. Only today whole day, I could not connect to my "already created" network at my computer. Usually when I'm able to connect, the POPUP will appear at the MIDDLE of my screen with my pretyped username & password. But now, the POPUP is at the TOP LEFT of my screen. Please see my attached picture. I typed in the username & password, but it didn't connect, I tried so many times & I got this message: "you do not have permission to access this web folder location".
I did uninstall frontpage extension, cleanup and reinstalled but it didn't help. I did a trace route, here is the details:

C:\Documents and Settings\Angelfly>tracert axxfactor.com

Hello,

Hard to tell what's happening but this type of error may be caused by newly installed or upgraded computer security products such as Norton or McAfee firewalls. If you have recently installed security software or recently changed the settings, make sure FrontPage has permission to access the Internet.

Your description of signon is a bit unusual, so I'm not sure how you are working with FrontPage. The usual scenario is to open in FrontPage your web site files residing on your own computer. Then when finished editing, select the File menu and choose Publish Site. Publish to http://yourdomain.com.

To run a test, you can also open in FrontPage live on the server by selecting the FrontPage File menu and choosing Open Site. Open web location http://yourdomain.com.

All the best, Rick E

FrontPage has been discontinued.
If you plan to stay with FrontPage, consider upgrading to FrontPage 2003 now.

Search the Microsoft KB for error messages:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?catalog=LCID%3D1033&spid=919&adv=1

Microsoft groups have additional FrontPage assistance:
