Hello,

It seems like since i moved off the shared hosting to my own server that a lot of spam is now getting through.  Particularly ads for online pharmacy stuff and 'hot stock tips.'

It is getting to be really annoying, can anyone suggest some software to run on my machine to help get rid of these things?

It depends what control panel you have installed really.

If it's Cpanel, I would go into Cpanel - Mail - Default address, and change it to :fail: no such address here

(with a : on each side of the word fail)

Then I would activate spamassassin and get it to either mark messages as spam, or mark messages as spam and automatically.

It depends on the control panel, so I can't give more advice (yet). Have you tried those things already? It normally cuts down on quite a lot of spam.

I use spamassasin to catch most of the garbage, and then MailWasher to filter the rest before downloading. It's been the most workable solution for me,but others' mileage may vary Very Happy.
