Hello,

I'm moving a bunch of accounts from FreeBSD to a dedicated CentOS server here. How can I let users keep their current passwords? It can't be as simple as copying /etc/passwd.

Thanks

Here is what I did:

FreeBSD: use 'vipw' and copy the users crypted passwd.

CentOS: use 'usermod -p' with the crypted passwd and username.

Cheers
