I received a letter that first implies my Domain needs to be renewed, then on down, says its not due to expire until October. Do I have to go with this outfit, Or does Lunar pages send me a notice when I am due to renew. I would just as soon stay with Lunar Pages. Haven't had any glitches so far.

Hi pjonesCET (Pete waves) If you type the name of the company into a google search you may well find them listed as You are at liberty to renew or register your domains with whomever you wish. I would suggest you Lock your domain to LunarPages. Having your domain set to locked status would prevent any transfer requests from processing successfully. (Example: another registrar trying to transfer the domain away from the current registrar, something that happens quiet often, unfortunately.) You should get a reminder from LunarPages about renew

How does one lock in domain to Lunar Pages? I'd like to stick with them until Lunar Pages Croaks, or I decide to discontinue my site.

If it's not from LP or your current registrar, then it's just junk mail, don't worry about it. I host a few dozen sites so I get them all the time. Different registrars can find out if your domain is expiring soon, and they send you a notice which sort of looks like a bill to scare you into paying and without realizing, switching to them. I just tear them up and throw them out does Lunar pages send me a notice when I am due to renew.
Yes, you should receive notification from Lunarpages via e-mail when your domain / hosting is about to expire.

Thanks. I'll throw away. I did ask about locking in service to Lunar Pages? How does one go about that.

That I'm not sure about. I suppose you would have to send an e-mail to support and request it.

Sorry, if this reply a bit later, but just for others who is also interested. If your domain is registered via Lunarpages, to get it locked or unlocked the support should be contacted for that.

Contacted Support, supplied needed info they lockd my account, so no one else can send me notices to renew except LunarPages.
Unless you want to reply to this note this question is answered.

Anyone can still send you notices and try to sucker you and others into paying them. However, they will not be able to transfer the domain as long as it is locked.

At least they can't change my registration without my consent.
