Yum Repo for PHP and MySQL?
«
on:

Hi all,
First off, I know CentOS.org has these in their repos, but the versions are not the most up to date versions. For example, PHP5 is still sitting at 5.1.6 and MySQL is still at 5.0.*. What I'm wondering is, does anyone know of a repo that continuously updates to the most current versions as they're released?
Thanks,
Justin

Hello Justin,
You would check this repository
http://www.jasonlitka.com/yum-repository/
It contains latest Apache, MySQL and PHP 5 packages for Centos 4/RHEL 4. They get updated when developers release an upgrade as well.

Thanks a lot! It does have updated PHP and Apache rpms, but no unfortunately updated MySQL...which happens to be the one I'm having the most trouble with.

Justin,
MySQL 5.0.54 available on Jason's site is almost the latest Monthly Rapid Update release of MySQL 5.0 branch available at this moment.
You could also download and setup the latest RPMs of MySQL from mysql.com. I'm just not sure if this will solve MySQL related dependencies for the latest PHP.

You asked about the yum repo but then refer to the RPMs.
Just create a .repo file for utterramblings and use yum.
