For thoes that don't know 3D Studio Max.

3D Studio Max is a program for making 3D stuff.
Alot of games are made in 3DMax, everything from maps, charactors, guns and Animations everything thats 3D.
And also used to making great looking Images and logos.
And also alot of Movie effects are made in 3DMax.

Now If you want 3D Studio Max you will need alot of money, last time I checked it was $3000 now it may be less. I will leave it up to you on how you going to get it.    But I suggest you get it, its worth it.

Enjoy

But for the serious 3D devotees // you might want to check out Alias WaveFront Maya 4.0 // Now we're talking Real3D

This is the stuff that they've used ( and some other inhouse proggie ) for FinalFantasy.

just my two cents!

well good question...

All I know is modeling, texturing, and lighting, I'm not much into animation. That's all I need to make mods for games.
Now are you my.....No it can't be you.

I have just started the 3D adventure.
I have Bryce 5, and also StudioMax R3.
So far i have found Bryce 5 easir to use,and wonder if this is because of the interface, or is S/M R4 an even easier program to use.
Maya well i guess i will look in that direction too.
Till i find the best and easiest interface.
