I mean, the kind that would make an pretty good layout for you?
 I've been sereching forever for something that would work for me, and so far I haven't found anything that I liked at all.
 any suggestions?

Well, what have you already tried? Adobe Pagemaker is a fine layout program. So's Quark. If you're looking for more of a pure graphics program for creating images, Fireworks is really user-friendly and powerful.

well if you're talking web site layout, may i recomend Macromedia Fireworks. I know it was mentioned above, but i'd just like to reenforce it. It is great for web design. it includes the ability to do image rollovers, javascript drop down menus, and is great at image optomization. it supports alot of photoshop plugins too, maybe even all of them. it's also a bit easier on system resources then photoshop is. you can download a 30 day trial from macromedia's website, www.macromedia.com

maybe corel draw as well. i have it for layout and i think it's pretty good. they make a basic version you can get for cheaper. i forget what its called. Draw Essentials or something like that. you can get a demo of Corel Draw from there website. its big though. www.corel.com

Paint Shop Pro is an excellent graphics program that doesn't have a major learning curve.  It also comes with an animator.  Find it at
