corel has put out a program just for cutting out images....Its called knockout....
it really makes cutting out an image easy and quick... and its accurate...well maybe doing it pixel by pixel is more accurate.
definately worth a look.

corel trials  
they use the VBOX system to downlowd which i believe makes it easier to make a propper CD out of it.
