I am trying to personalize my Message Board with my own header and colors to fit the look of my website, but am having a hard time figuring out what to do. The website has to go up on CHristmas Eve and I'm nowhere close with this message board. Help?

Welcome to LunarForums !

What kind of message board is it ? phpBB ? SMF ?

Your first task will be to find the name of the header (right click, choose properties) then create your own  the exact same size, then name it the same and upload it to the same location as the existing one overwriting it with yours.

Colors are changed thru the .css and style.css files for that template/theme/etc

Thank you. I knew it had to something easy like that, but just couldn't quite figure it out.
It's a SMF by the way. I hope thats not bad.

Garrick ... SMF is certainly not bad, it's the forum a lot of us recommend. If you need further help (after you implement what Rat instructed) post a link to your forum so we can assist you better.

I'm still having a hard time figuring out the size. I am working at work on a Windows 2000 machine. I work at Macs at home, but I have no internet at home for another month so I apologize for sounding dumb, but I don't get but about thirty minutes on the web a day at this point to find the info I need. Been trying to put my website together offline and this message board thing has become the thorn in my side. I just want the header to look like all my headers and maybe if possible change the blue to brown. I got into the style css and could locate exactly which things I needed to change. I'm a video guy and this web and coding thing is still real new to me. Anyway, here is my message board. The plain jane text and colors are all I really need to adjust. The interface is great. Thanks for being so nice.

smflogo.gif   find that and check the size. Its probly 250 wide and 12 or so high, just guessing tho. Glad you are getting it together.

I am getting there. I still do not know size of SMF gif. I had to start over because my colors went blue and purple after I changed them to brown?Huh Anyway, I have the Css. style sheet. Does anybody know what link, hover, input boxes, etc. What part of the forum that is?

Just what it says. Under where it says "link" is the characteristics of the links, color, etc.  Under where it says "hover" is what happens when you hover mouse over a link,,, input boxes must be where users type in things ?? Let me know if I can be of any more help. As for the size of smf.gif, simply right click and choose properties. Good luck.
