Well, I have been progressing with my website and am almost to the point of installing SOME photo gallery. Herein lies the struggle. There are a whole bunch of free gnu/gpl items out there and I have looked at a plethora of them. I know that this is a subjective question and this same question has been asked a thousand times. I am looking for a couple items in a gallery based on all that I have seen. Easy control of the gallery sortware.  Something I don't have to recode to fix problems. I will be the only one posting photos on it at first and I am looking for a lot of flexibility in it. In other words I want (or, would like) to have the ability to post photos on a page that were links to the rest of the gallery categories. (A photo of a landscape would link to the landscape gallery) etc. Oh yes, and the CATCH is, which ever gallery I choose will have to be installed on Joomla 1.0.10. Any thoughts?

Have you asked the joomla people? They probably know best which gallery works with the app. Not that there might not be people here in your situation, but you would reach a broader audience there, I would think.

I would think Coppermine would work fine, as I was researching for adding mine to Mambo I seen posts there (joomla forums) about people asking about adding it to Joomla as well to which it was replied it would work,,, ??  Just an idea,, they do have the audience there you are seeking, of course Lunarforums now has a Mambo/Joomla category !!

Good luck with your choice !!

PS, (hey Tranz, do you see anything I could improve on my new gallery so far ?  Thanks ! )

Yes, I have posted this question on the Joomla forum(as yet, no answer). Asking this here is just an attempt to cover the bases, so to speak, in the hope that someone else has an insight into this.

I suppose I could rephrase it so that it would work on this forum a bit better. I suppose what I am asking, under the surface, is whether any galleries other than Coppermine will work on the php, mysql core of Joomla without my having to code it from the ground up. What I am attempting to avoid is having to learn the aforementioned on top of all else I am learning. A little at a time is my motto.

Zoom....that's one I have heard of but not looked at. I'll take a look and see what it is. Thanks for your time, All. Any other ideas that come up as time goes on would be appreciated. I'll check back.
