Hi,

To help assist staff, moderators, and general users for debugging or troubleshooting errors and other issues, I wanted to provide a list of helpful hints:

  • Please always provide the exact error message received and your domain name (we need your domain name if you would like assistance here, since many members cannot troubleshoot at all without your domain name being given).
  • Please do not replace your actual domain or user with domain.com or user or modify the error message, script, or details provided. #3 would overrule this step in the case of passwords
  • Please do asterick out your password as you would not want a script with your password included.
  • If your site is of a sensitive nature and you are worried about minors, please include a warning notice at the beginning of your post to warn users.
  • Please provide a url to the error being received if applicable or details on your site to reproduce the issue.
  • If you have a forum not working and this requires a user to register and login, please provide a default username and password you create for forum users to use for testing purposes so people would not need to individually create accounts to test the issue.
  • If you are using the temporary url
(http://server.lunarpages.com/~username where server.lunarpages.com is your server and ~username is your username) please provide that url and let us know you are using it for access, cloaking, coding or otherwise.
  • If you have just changed your DNS nameservers or made any changes to your DNS entries, please state this and what was done.  Propagation can take many hours to many days, and trying to troubleshoot an issue when the domain is not pointing here yet will be difficult to do.
  • Please provide any and all other details that will help.  You may wish to write up what you want to say before you actually post it, ensuring you use a helpful title (one that shows the actual issue will be more helpful than one with just Help Me in it).
  • Please do not post multiple times in several forums but in the best forum for the question.
If you aren't sure where to place the posting or have other questions, please feel free to PM a moderator to ask (or PM me since I posted this topic).

I hope this helps.

Confused  Confused  Sad  Hi, I am using this Forum because I cannot log into "Support!" I am able to log in to the cPanel for my site, but that user name and password don't work for Support...I looked up old messages which said to use my email address as my user name...I tried re-setting my password...all to no avail. LunarPages support is excellent once I reach you, but why is it so hard to submit a ticket???  Hypno

Here's my question: I keep getting an e-mail  message flagged urgent, purportedly from you, that says:

Domain Name: artistsweballiance.com

Date/Time: July 13th, 2007 @ 11:54 PM

The following installations are not up-to-date:

    Zen Cart:
        + /shoptest - 1.2.6d (1.3.7)

I don't remember signing up for Zen Cart, though I may have.  I cannot find this on cPanel. I want to know if this is really urgent - more importantly, is it really from LunarPages?

The subject line is "Fantastico De Luxe Outdated Installations."

Thank you for illuminating this subject - and giving me guidance on how to access Support!

Hi,

Yes, it is from Fantastico in cPanel though, not directly from us. Just log into your cPanel, click on Fantastico icon and you'll see the installations there. If you aren't using Zen cart, then just uninstall it from there as well.

Thanks.

Clapping Thank you for your response. I was afraid it might be phishing. I couldn't find a Fantastico icon the first time I looked; will try again.

Any tips on how to open a support ticket, should I need to in the future, since my cPanel and ftp password doesn't seem to work for accessing support? And why is the login process separate, with different user name and password for support anyway?
Thanks, Cary

Hi Danielle,

I've set up a password protected section of my web site (I think I've done that correctly, since the log in works).  My problem is with what happens when the user tries to cancel out of (or close) the log-in window.  Here's the error message:

Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.41 Server at www.bcchoa.net Port 80

To reproduce this, you could go here:
http://www.bcchoa.net/dev/members.shtml
click the log-in link, and the close or cancel from the log-in window.

I guess I actually have two problems:  the Authorization Required message and the 404 Not Found error.  I don't know much about how to customize my own error pages, but I have tested the URL for the log-in link.  In other words, if you do log in successfully, you are directed to the correct page.

I should mention that this web site is in a folder called "dev", not in the root folder yet.

Thanks!
