I tried to add another domain to my account through cpanel, but without success. Is there another way?

If you own the domain already, you won't need to buy it, just use Cpanel to get it set up on your account.

If you need to buy it, then contact sales as Lupine stated.

When you purchase another domain through LP (I already had the free one, this is additional), does it automatically get set with the correct Lunarpages DNS records and where is this managed?

Where can I access email for this domain if it doesn't show up in my Horde interface main account sign in? (Squirrel Mail gives no access to other domain emails, except as a catch all.)

Thanks,

Jason

Yes, once the domain is activated you should be able to manage it under addon domains via cPanel.   Smiling  As far as E-mails go, you should be able to create an E-mail address with any of your domains you have associated with that account.  Such as:

me@mydomain.com
me@myotherdomain.com

You will just need to make sure you set them up via cPanel's mail manager.  After that checking your mail should be as easy as just logging in.  Hope that helps.

I just added on a new add on domain. Nice and simple.

1. purchase the domain for 2.99 (current promotion price) on the modify domain page.

2. go to cpanel and add that domain name to the add-on. First one is Free!

Sorry to post to an old thread...

When setting up an add on domain, is it a domain in and of itself?  For instance, I host www.1031store.com currently... but I want to host my www.saintpetersburgflrealestate.com site too... can I set this up too as a direct domain on the same account?

Are there any restrictions that I need to know about?

Also, is there any posts that give instructions on setting up your add-on domain?  I've been searching but haven't found any yet.

Thanks,
Starke

To answer your question starke, yes you should be able to do this.  When you use an addon domain - your secondary Web site is really sitting in a folder under your main account.  To the outside world though, they will never know the difference.

This will allow you to host and manage more than one Web hosting account on a plan, with controls for both domains available to you via your control panel.  Hope that helps explain things, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.   Thumbs Up

Thanks Mitch, this does help me understand the add on domain concept.

One question... I'm sure of many to come, well hopefully not... although the file appears as a subfolder on my account, is it still SEO friendly?

Considering what you are saying... It sounds like it would be, but wondering if this has any effect on the site looks to the SE's.

Thanks,
Starke

Hello:
Yes, it would appear as SEO friendly as from the outside world it would look like a separate account/website.

I can leave the domains at my current registrar (I have a domain reseller account that I don't want to mess with), but I can still add them to my lunar pages hosting account?

This costs $2.50 per month per domain that I add to my regular LP account?   And I have to call to get LP to set this up for me?   After they set it up, I can then move my site (or have them move it for me?) and have control over the site in my lunar pages Cpanel?   And it will look like www.my2nddomainname.com to the outside world, instead of a subdomain?

Is that right?   How many add-ons can you do for the basic account?  Most of my websites are just a couple of pages and very low traffic, as they are local interest stuff.   So is it based on bandwidth usage or by number of add-on accounts?

Thanks!   Love the forum and the tutorials....I'd have been stuck at the beginning without it.

Yes, you can leave your domain at your current registrar. You can set it up here with us as an add-on domain and then just change the nameservers.

Our Basic plan used to only offer 1 free add-on domain, but now the plans have been upgraded and you can get 10 free add-on domains per account. If you still need more than 10, you can email LP and let us know. Also, some accounts are still not updated with the new features. If you still need them added to your account, just send LP a quick email to support@lunarpages.com.

Yes, your add-on domains will still show up as www.addondomain.com. All your add-ons will count towards the same bandwidth usage.

Glad you're liking the forum and tutorial section. Let us know if you need any other help. Thumbs Up
