Does this also change the STMP Authentication password for a user's client software?

Let me phrase my question a little better.

If the user changes their password using the webmailpasswd.cgi command, does the user have to manually change their client software password accordingly so STMP authentication via their client software works properly?

Well, let me jump in with a quesion.  At the winery where I work we have our own domain, which is www.fennvalley.com  and we also are able to access our webmail on the server at http://webmail.fennvalley.com  and if you go there you will see that you get a choice of "username"  "password" and then language, which is left alone.  Since we have several people at the winery we all get email via our first name+domain name.  If you wanted to view your email from some other place than at the winery at your computer and your email client, you could simply go to that above address, insert your name, and insert your password and you got JUST your eamil.  However, when I log into vernsdid.com  with my username and password, I can see both mine and my wifes email that shows up in Horde.  Odd huh?

So I was wondering if there was an actual way to make the Horde email setup work like that at the winery, where I could just type in webmail.vernsdidj.com or webmail.scottieluvr.com  and get the proper setup?
