Hi all,

I'm wanting to have two different installations of Joomla: a "production version" and a "test version" such that I can deploy an upgrade to my test version first, then copy to production once I'm satisified with everything. The problem I'm having is that Joomla 1.0.x only supports a single installation. The configuration.php file does not have an option to support a different physical or logical path. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Well you could always manually setup the second install in a different folder, such as yourdomain.com/testing/ and then one install of Joomla wouldn't even know there was another one there. Smile

That's what I've done, but don't forget to either use a second database for your second installation, or at the very least, use a different db prefix. Ie: jos_ for one site, and jtest_ for your test site, as an example. But, if you use a seperate db then by all means, use jos_ for both  Smiling

Yep, will want to keep them as separated as you can.  Thumbs Up
