Hey HeavyDora,
Thanks for clarifying your situation. I do feel and understand your frustration as I recently tried to upgrade my SMF forum and since the latest version has so many code changes compared to the version I am running it totally wrecked it and according to the SMF folks, there is no way I can use my current theme and its CSS changes and make it work with the latest version so I am stuck using the old version and risking security vulnerabilities or starting over, very frustrating indeed.
I always do manual upgrades and most always do manual installs as I have heard about Fantastico having some issues long before coming to LP. I am no programmer but can follow manual directions if they are good and I have read many times to always do a full backup before changing anything. I am sorry you didnt know to do that and trusted what you seen in Fantastico about backups.
No, I have not made a full backup in about a month. I did not think it necessary since just before doing the upgrade it said
"Please save following information. You will need it in order to restore if something went wrong."
I did save that information, assuming it was what I needed in order to fix any problems that might come up. I am hoping that is still the case.
What information did you save exactly so maybe we can see if it will restore your site in case you need to do so? Also what page was the header info on that needs changing and do you have the code that needs to be changed and what it needs to be changed to ? If we had that info perhaps we can help you to find it and make the needed changes.
LP does not support third party scripts so most times you have to go to the script developers websites to get help, but we do have excellent support techs who can and will help you.
I hope this helps,
RandyT
