Hi ,

I am trying to install the PhpBB 2 on an apache server and the install produces the following error:  
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'tai@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/telavi2/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 48

Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/telavi2/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 330

Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/telavi2/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 331
phpBB : Critical Error

I followed exactly the instructions on :
http://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=install


Could not connect to the database.
Any ideas?

did you use fantastico to install your forum? if so you want to be checking out this thread:

although i've never seen that from a fantastico install before, if you aren't using the fantastico auto-install you need to create a database, and datavase user as shown is the thread i just posted ( http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21575 )

Fantastico would automatically install and create the database and user. Because of that error message you posted, it doesn't look like you used Fantastico, which is free, btw.
