Saw Danielle's post about Horde being down last week. http://www.lunarforums.com/lunarpages_web_hosting_server_information/horde_security_issue_disabling_on_listed_shared_temporarily-t46895.0.html

So when's it going to be back up? Am dead in the water without it. Tried "Squirrel" but nothing is there.

Any updates?

Couldn't post a reply to Danielle's announcement.

Try contacting support@lunarpages.com for issues like this and they will be able to look into it for you.

I'm afraid they will not be able to help you-- I have tried. I opened a ticket on the 15th and asked if they had any idea when this problem might be fixed. The answer was:

Quote
We do apologize for any inconvenience , It has recently been discovered that the version of Horde currently provided with cPanel has a major security vulnerability and as a result, it has been disabled until cPanel is able to provide a newer version that deals with this exploit.

We have been in contact with cPanel about this issue and are currently waiting for the new version. There is not currently an ETA on this new release, however as soon as it is available, we will reenable horde.

At this time, I have been unable to locate an alternative method for accessing the calender feature of horde via other means.

Please advise if you have any questions or further issues.

I waited until today, and, since it's still down, I wrote a lengthy email explaining that this was a very big problem for me and I suggested that lunarpages press the relevant parties to find out how long it's going to take and to have more communication with us about this issue (like having a news page we could go to to find out the status). The reply was:

Quote
Unfortunately we do not have any eta on when this issue will be resolved, I know that our admins are working on updating the servers and when this has completed your Horde will again be replaced.

Since that was a "no response" kind of response, I answered with this:

Quote
Why don't you have any eta on this? Has no one been in contact with the relevant parties? It's been over a week!

The response was:

Quote
Our admins are still working on the issue, unfortunately no eta has been announced on this.

Once this has been completed, Horde will be back up and running.

So if you go to the help desk, you're just going to get the run around with canned answers that don't address the question. (I simply don't understand why lunarpages won't talk to the relevant parties and find out how long it's going to take to fix this problem.) My advice is not to bother with it.

I am now searching for a new method of keeping my calendar. I simply can never have anything like this ever happen again.

Yes, support will be able to help you with this - as this is being tackled on a server by server basis.  Some servers have had Horde turned back on and have this issue fixed and others soon will in the future.  Thanks!

Wonder why Squirrel Mail is not working for you?  My Horde disappeared but I was able to get right into Squirrel and get my mail, etc.  Don't like it as well, but I guess I am lucky it is functional!

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I certainly did not fell like I was helped. Unless you believe the constantly repeating the refrain "as soon as it's fixed, it will be back" is useful help!

Squirrel mail is fine for the email, my problem is that I have my calendar in Horde. It's so embarrassing- I'm missing appointments left and right because everything was in that calendar. I inquired of the help desk if there was any other way to get to my calendar data.

They said no.

I said is there any eta for getting Horde back up.

They said no; as soon as the problem is fixed it will be back up.

I suggested that the system be changed so that calendar data is stored centrally so it could be accessible from both front ends, or at least give a warning that calendar data is specific to Horde.

They said as soon as the problem is fixed it will be back up.

I suggested that they communicate better about this problem since there is never any information about Horde's status, e.g., a news section on their website.

They said as soon as the problem is fixed it will be back up.

I asked them why they can't get this information from the relevant parties so they can be more helpful.

They said as soon as the problem is fixed it will be back up.

I finally gave up talking to them...

Some servers have had Horde turned back on, but not all yet.  There is no estimated time table for how long this might take but our server admins are doing all that they can to get it back on for everybody.

Sorry to rush you guys. But we rely need an estimate on when horde is back on. How long CAN it take? I know you got a lot of server, but for you to use this much time, and not giving any explanation thats not good!!

There is no time table at this time, but more and more servers are getting the cPanel updates so that they can have Horde re-enabled.
