I was checking out the phpauction script in Fantastico and it gave a link for more info to phpauction.org. I can't access that website. Are they still around?  Confused

What do you use for auction scripts?

Looking for it on Google, I see Google still has the site cached - so hopefully they are just having some issues of their own there that will clear up soon.

I wanna see their website  Crying or Very sad

I hate looking for scripts, and would much rather use what I already have (seemingly) at my disposal.  Yep

- answering several questions in this thread: -

whois lookup for phpauction:   from 1999 until oct. 2009, last update july 2008.
The current domain owner goes in fact back to 1999, hence, so far, all is o.k.,
it would not be the first change in presentation of the site during these years.

phpauction has a long history with changing sales concepts since then.
In spite of the top programming quality inside it, there was always a
finalizing problem and so on, also for some of the commercial versions.
The market of want-to-be auction site owners is too small
for true investment into extended software packages.

It is not very polite to say it frankly, but the phpauction in its freeware version
(was included in fantastico) is not something with the lowest bug-level in human history...

I am specialized in programs and market introduction of auction sites.
Several running - so far none on LP, but there would be no problem on LP servers.
So if somebody has an investor to pay for it  Smile  ,  please contact me.    ok Q aha7.com

Otherwise look the software up in software repositories. Be aware,
auctions are the most difficult subject in transaction sites, only a very small
number of offers is up to the promises.

But the main problem is not software, the main problem is market introduction.
For logical reasons, the biggest market place tends to be the only market place,
in the field of auctions. So it is a business and investor problem, not a software problem.
You have to look for a market concept which is not affected by the concentration effect
of auction markets.

I wonder if the phpauction.org address in Fantastico that doesn't work anymore is supposed to be phpaucion.net?!

I'm confused. Anybody know the answer?

I think you are right.  Even though, still in Fantastico and on the official Fantastico web site - they still have the .org version listed.

Yeah, but nevermind about phpauction. The version we get is free, but you cannot charge fees to others for listings. To do that you have to upgrade the package... for Hundreds of dollars!  Crying or Very sad

I found some really good looking php auction scripts at scriptsfeed - and they are cheap! They seem to have the features that I'm looking for...

But, I get real paranoid about installing scripts. I have too many sites to risk having my account shut down at Lunarpages.

Is anyone (I doubt it) familiar with these scripts on that site?
