My site was hacked today and I am trying to upgrade my forum via the instructions here on this forum keeping my config file.  But after I have uploaded all the files I cannot get the update_to_2011.php to work.  Can anyone help me?

http://www.allsoapscoops.com/phpBB2/install/update_to_2011.php

Thank you  Crying or Very sad

Never mind...I just deleted the entire thing and installed the upgrade forum from the Fantistico scripts.  I lost all my files of course, but the forum is back and upgraded to the 2.0.11, so hopefully it will prevent future hacks of this nature Sad

I have a backup of my forum, but I am afraid to use it for fear it will revert it to the previous version and not the 2.0.11...I am a complete incompetent at almost everything to do with php.

Too late...I deleted the entire forum and upgraded from the Fantastico scripts.  I am not going to use the back up.  The users will just have to start over.  I am too tired and too stressed to visualize anything else at the moment.  Starting over will have to do and hopefully the upgraded script will prevent this hacking from happening again.

Someone one on of my boards mumbled something about there being a windows programme that allows you to run the patch command on your locally stored files. I can't remember what it is. Google might be able to help though.

Oh, that's an idea. It's better to test locally anyway, if one has a WAMP set up.

Well, you can do a patch via a cron job.  However, I don't recommend it for a "live" site.  See http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21765&start=82&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= for a discussion.
