I'm such a beginner it's not even funny. I know just enough to get myself into trouble. Can anyone help me with this problem? Below is is the screen I get when I try to access my forum. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

How are you uploading your files? I had my ftp program set to force everthing to lower case and had a similar error. The servers are case sensitive so its a big deal however trivial it might sound. Also look here http://www.messageboard.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9406&view=next |

I upload my files with Front Page. I tried to look at your link but it doesn't appear to be in english which is the only language I know. This is a better explanation of my problem though.
I was trying to change the default template on my phpBB2 powered forum and in doing so I accidently changed the template to the option _vti_cnf. I can't acess my forum at all now. All I can get is this screen:

Is that template config file supposed to have its permission set a certain way? If it is, did you remember to change the permissions when you uploaded it. By the looks of the error message, I am deducing that it can't open the file because of the permission not being set correctly.  |

Do you know what the permission should be set to? Right now the permissions are set to 7 5 5

Actually, read my next post below that one. I think that may be your solution and not the permissions.
Let us know if that worked for you, for anybody else in the future having the same problem.

Awesome, I didn't think about googling it. I tried that link and a few others. I must be an idiot or something. I'm not getting anywhere. It seems like other people have been able to solve this problem but I seem to be stuck.  |
