I'm such a beginner it's not even funny. I know just enough to get myself into trouble. Can anyone help me with this problem? Below is is the screen I get when I try to access my forum. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
Ben

How are you uploading your files? I had my ftp program set to force everthing to lower case and had a similar error. The servers are case sensitive so its a big deal however trivial it might sound. Also look here http://www.messageboard.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9406&view=next

I upload my files with Front Page. I tried to look at your link but it doesn't appear to be in english which is the only language I know. This is a better explanation of my problem though.
I was trying to change the default template on my phpBB2 powered forum and in doing so I accidently changed the template to the option _vti_cnf. I can't acess my forum at all now. All I can get is this screen:
phpBB : Critical Error

Is that template config file supposed to have its permission set a certain way? If it is, did you remember to change the permissions when you uploaded it. By the looks of the error message, I am deducing that it can't open the file because of the permission not being set correctly.

Do you know what the permission should be set to? Right now the permissions are set to 7 5 5

Actually, read my next post below that one. I think that may be your solution and not the permissions.
Let us know if that worked for you, for anybody else in the future having the same problem.

Awesome, I didn't think about googling it. I tried that link and a few others. I must be an idiot or something. I'm not getting anywhere. It seems like other people have been able to solve this problem but I seem to be stuck.
