i'm gonna put on my hopmepage, the number of members, posts, unread posts (is user is logged in), ego search page e.t.c. on my homepage, i also will be having a register and login page to fit in with the homepage, and a login box on the page.

how would you guys call it from the DB? would you call from the config file phpbb already uses, or make another, what protection woud you use?

if you do use it already, how did you do it?

is their any mods that do this already?

That is just a portal, but it has some useful code that should do everything - if you need a hand just post

in reference to my last post, i still checked out that script, and that way is a lot easier than the way i done it, so i'm editing the majority of mine now
