Happy New Year?

php-nuke is not offered anymore by lunarpages.

Here is my ticket responce:
Due to php-nuke's history for being exploited, we removed it from
Fantastico.
We urge our customers to find a secure CMS such as Mambo and others.

I still have it operating and hope that lunarpages does not delete my php-nuke site.  I was encouraged to use one of the others offered but after installing each of them and trying them out in the past I came to the conclution that I would rather find another service that offers php-nuke.
I encourage Lunarpages to bring back php-nuke or something of the same quality as php-nuke.

Lunarpages,
How about looking into using another good portal for replacing the php-nuke or something of the same quality?

 Crying or Very sad

If anyone has any other suggestions please comment!

So you find that Php-Nuke has a higher quality than Mamboserver (MOS)? http://mamboserver.com/

A few sites at Lunarpages using MOS:

http://flashydreams.com (one of the default templates, a staff site)
http://figuresgeorgetown.ca/ (a staff member created this site for another member)
http://endar.org (mine currently in the works)
Many, many others...

Sites off MOS forum that are using it:

http://www.theispreport.com
http://www.wheatleyfamily.net
http://tkwnet.com/

Check their forum out for other sites - http://forum.mamboserver.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22

What you might notice about each is that they look different from each other, which is the power of MOS. A site can look however it wants to look and configurational changes are built into the CMS.  Php-Nuke sites tend to look similar, so I'm trying to figure out the quality in it, especially given the source code is oftentimes many, many times larger than most other CMS and it is also highly exploited...

As for Invision, it isn't free anymore, so there isn't a likelihood anyone will offer it since the host would have to pay for individual licenses for each account...and Invision isn't a CMS but a forum like phpBB happens to be.

With all respect to you I still say, "Yes I do..."

Exploited? I am not sure what the exploited is all about but Problably comes from the ability to create awsome looking sites and the availabilty and the ease to install themes and add to them.  I have a private community site and I have done alot of kewl stuff with it so far.

I have looked at all of the links you provided and I do admit that they are some nice looking sites.  Nothing wrong with them.  But I am looking for the so called  Confused  expolited abilities that Php-nuke has to offer.  It may be just my personal preferences that makes Php-nuke the higher quality because of it's abilities.  I am sure others will feel the same if they are using nuke.  Because it may seem it is expolited to some it is wrong to use that a reason to take it away from others.

Here is a site that gives some ideas of what php-nuke can do.

SAMPLE SITE

Mambo and the others that are left on the list are not my style!

Actually Exploted means that your site has a higher potential to be hacked and defaced.

I checked out your Garden site also.  Nice!
Wish we could grow nice gardens out here on the other side of SD from you.  The Black Hills has been very dry and not much humidity.  I know the gardens east are much better with the huimidity and better soil than the rocky ground of the Hills.  We can grow good cacti and yucca!   Thumbs Up

Humm!
Glad you made yourself clear.  Does a higher potential mean the Mambo has a lower one?

I haven't heard of anything happening in the php-Nuke forums.

Is it a secuirty issue for Lunarpages or just the site owner?

I will ask some questions in the next few days and see what come up in the forums.

I will still continue with PHP-Nuke unless something as good for me replaces it.

As long as your staff can you give me figures on the sites that have been hacked and defaced in Lunarpages?  If possible please provide me with percentage of sites hacked and how many sites you have that are using php-Nuke.
Thank you

Morris, I don't think Luynarpages' monitors or track what sites use. But my guess is that Support gets a bunch of e-mails about it and if you look all over you can see some security issues with the software.

whatever anyone says php-nuke is great, it has everything and anything a web-sire creator needs.

but would you rather have a site that is great and gets hacked whenever someone feels like it, or a good site that can't?

we're on a project now that could help you out, but for now i advise you to change. but check back.

I appreaciate your help guys.
Right now I am having trouble figuring out how to intigrate the ppb into post nuke.
Any info on where I can find instructions?
Mabe someone can point me to a link!

Tech support worte to me:
PostNuke is virtually the same as PHPnuke, only more secure. You can
add a
message board system (PNphpBB - phpBB ported to PHPnuke).

Thanks again

Are you talking about phpBB? If so, I thought it was included with PostNuke. Confused
