Hello All,

I am new here and I'm having a bit of trouble so I thought that I would ask you guys to see if you could help me out here.

I can install SMF software just fine, I can even get it sending e-mails out to members, however it likes to show everyone my bits and pieces if you look at the e-mail source. Here is one: (keeping in mind that i have changed apropiate fields so that it makes sense

Now to me, that's sneaky giving out bits and pieces of my info and i don't like it, not one bit. Does anyone know how I can fix this so that peeping toms can not see this information (how do I change the info. ANY help would be very much appreciated.

I don't use that script but what I see in your "bits and pieces" is the full headers of the e-mail. Usually those are not shown unless someone purposely exposes them in their e-mail program. As in: turning on full headers.

Do you know if you have a setting in there that turns on the full e-mail headers in your templates or send mail settings somewhere?

Have you tried to set up a different email address under the server settings part of SMF's admin interface? I think that's where it's done. If that doesn't do the trick, you might try a search of the smf support forum at:

Hope that helps!

What are the "bits and pieces" that you object to? As Debbie said, it all appears to be standard email header information. You can turn off the display of header information in an email client, but you can't prevent a recipient from seeing it if they want to. Isn't the same information included in the header if you just send an ordinary email from your account?
