That post was made before the new version came out. It is highly recommended you upgrade to the latest version. Here is a tutorial.

About the worst thing that can happen is that additional scripts are uploaded to the server to hijack the machine and use it to attack other computers.

You don't want that to happen, and you certainly don't want to get the blame for it. Upgrade.
