For some reason on my SMF board when visual varification is enabled you can't see the visuals.  I was advertising my site and others were saying that they couldn't see the characters.  What should I do?

Are you talking about a captcha for signing up? Did not see one enabled! Several of your form fields are yellow background with white text, so they are nearly invisible.

Exactly.  I'm talking about captcha.  Only problem is not even a blank space show up for where there should be one.

Which mod are you using for the captcha feature?

No mod.  It's a part of SMF.

OK, I suspect the problem is the theme you are using. You must have disabled the catcha when I registered. Is it currently enabled?

No but I found a mod called "Are you human?" that can serve the same purpose.  No need to worry about captcha now.  Yes it's disabled.

OK for what it is worth,  I think I see the problem. Have a look at index.template.php from your theme at line 34 to 38 where the default setting is 'never'

/* Use images from default theme when using templates from the default theme?
if this is 'always', images from the default theme will be used.
if this is 'defaults', images from the default theme will only be used with default templates.
if this is 'never' or isn't set at all, images from the default theme will not be used. */
$settings['use_default_images'] = 'never';
