Mitch:
Can you tell me the proper way to backup a blog? I connect through Dreamweaver MX. Every once in a while I'll pull down all the files from the remote server to my local computer in the folder "blog", where the install is.
Is that enough? Do I also have to do something with a database?
I went to the cpanel/fantastico and it suggests I update from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2, and I didn't do it because of the warning about how you shouldn't upgrade if you've modified anything. When will I be able to go straight to 2.3.3? Or do I have to update incrementally? I've already just uploaded the xmlrpc file from 2.3.3.
Gotta back up two things:
1. Your Wordpress wp-content folder (where your theme lives), your .htaccess file, and your wp-config.php file in the root of your blog. You can use DW to do that. Just pull it down using the FTP site. Everything else can be reinstalled.
2. The installed wp database. That's where all your posts live.
I use this plugin. It's easy.
