I was asked recently about branding the control panel (cpanel) for the Lunarpages reseller's end users. Lee Coleman, our technical director and I went over the options for our resellers and they can indeed brand the cpanel skin.

Each reseller is provided with WHM (web host manager) through cpanel. In WHM there is a link labeled branding. Resellers are able to upload their own logos into the current cpanel images or to reskin cpanel through this system. Lee also googled cpanel skins and found several free and low cost skins which our resellers can use to brand their control panels for their clients.

These skins will need to be sent to Lunarpages and we will need to upload them to our resellers' profiles and once they have been installed, the reseller's cpanel will be branded to their chosen skin (look and feel).

To send skins to be installed please write to resellers@lunarpages.com.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,
Trey Gardner

Trey,

This was a great post. I was recently lookig to become a reseller and I wanted to look further into this "Skin" thing. It would appear that creating a skin is a bit more complex then I thought. After looking out through the results on google I also found several sites that provide skins at a cost. My question is.. As I look through some of these sites like http://www.cpskins.com/pricing.php I notice that there is different pricing for how many servers you have. Since I would be a reseller, I would like to know, #1 how do they no how many servers you are running this on... #2 Would I need a skin for each account I have hosted.

I would also love it if anyone had any insight into any good tutorials or some straight up lessons about how to create a skin.. It can't be that difficult.. Can it??

With that all said, is there a set number of options that CPanel grants for people to reskin for.. I mean.. There is "FTP Accounts" "Disk Usage" "Mail" and so on.. Do all skins cover the same things or do I run the risk of having a skin that does not have a feature encorporated..

Hope that makes sense,

Bill
