Hi,

I am already a LP customer for my own website and I am considering reselling accounts to my clients.

Firstly, I notice when you sign up for a reseller account it is prepaid. Is the purchased account activated straight away? For example can you purchase a large number of accounts and not have them activated until they are needed? Of if you purchase 10 of them will they all be activated and effectively 'being used' from the time of purchase? I can see this being an issue when it comes to synchronising billing cycles.

Secondly, what is the real benefit of setting up a reseller account and selling hosting this way? If there is no integrated billing, potentially more expensive then then basic plan, less bandwidth and storage space also - why would I want to do it this way as opposed to purchasing individual hosting accounts and effectively 'reselling' those with my marked up price? Tech support goes through LP instead of client>me>LP as well.

Also, A general question to other resellers - how does everyone manage the billing of their accounts? I was disappointed when I read that there was no integrated billing through LunarPages and WHM. This kind of makes the reseller hosting seem a little redundant.

We do not provide you with a billing system to use between yourself and your customers.  You would purchase the hosting space from us, and then you could turn around and sell the hosting space for whatever price you wanted to.

I cannot find information there regarding when the period of the prepaid account starts.

Can you please clarify this?

As I understand it, each account under the reseller package is purchased separately when needed (ie: you have a new client that needs webhosting) so the term of each account begins at purchase. The cost of each new account will depend on how many currently active accounts are in place at the time of purchase.
