hello, I read all the threads about the reseller account but there are a few things not very clear to me Thanks in advance 1. If I want to purchase a reseller plan for myself , not to resell to other persons, what is the price per year? I don't know yet how many websites I will host, so how can I determine the price plan? Can I choose the number of accounts from the beginning? 2.I can add unlimited domains on this account? 3.I have 3 free domains and starting with the fourth I will pay 7.95 for each new domain?
Thanks

Wayne,
Thanks for your interest in Lunarpages.
The reseller plan is geared specifically for those wanting to resell hosting to others. Each one including your master account only has 1000mb of space and 100GB of bandwidth so you will need to purchase one for each domain. Our basic plan has 250GB of space and 2500GB of bandwidth and comes with 10 free add on slots so you could host 11 separate sites for as cheap as $6.95 a month so it doesnt make sense to me to have a reseller plan for personal use.
1. Here are the rates for our reseller plan:
The setup fee is waived for the annual plan.
Rates For your 1st - 3rd Purchased Accounts (at regular Lunarpages rate)
1 Year pre paid account $7.95/mo NO SET UP FEE
6 month pre paid account $8.95/mo with a $15.00 set up
3 month pre paid accounts $9.95/mo with a $15.00 set up
Rates For your 4th - 10th Purchased Accounts
1 Year pre paid account $6.00/mo NO SET UP FEE
6 month pre paid account $7.00/mo with a $15.00 set up
3 month pre paid accounts $8.00/mo with a $15.00 set up
Rates for your 11th+ Purchased Accounts
1 Year pre paid account $5.00/mo NO SET UP FEE
6 month pre paid account $6.00/mo with a $15.00 set up
3 month pre paid accounts $7.00/mo with a $15.00 set up
Please note, setup fees and domain registrations are non-refundable.
2. You can purchase as many accounts as you need.
3. Yes. Resellers get up to 3 free domains. If you purchase a reseller account at full price, you get a free domain. After this, additional domains are $7.95 per domain.
I hope this helps, RandyT

thanks for the answer let's say that I still want a reseller plan...let's say I have 40 websites, small and with little traffic In this case, I should go for the reseller plan, right? What would cost me to host 50 small websites on a reseller account at LP? Thanks for a straight answer! Sorry I forgot to mention...I already have a basic plan here...That means I can already add 10 domains ? Each domain is 7.95 usd per year?

hey Wayne, let me see if I can explain this better.
Each reseller account can only have one domain as add on domains are not allowed since they are designed to be resold to individual clients with one site. They can have unlimited parked domains but those all resolve to the one primary so if you want to have 40 separate websites you would need 40 separate reseller accounts, that would cost waaaaay more than say 4 basic plans that could have 11 separate sites each with alot more space and bandwidth etc. You may even want to consider a business plan or VPS.
Yes basic plans come with 10 free add on domain hosting slots and you can register domains with us for $7.95 USD each per year.
I hope this helps, RandyT

This is intended as a summary of how to select types of hosting:
If you have a lot of sites yourself, use the basic plan, and put up to 10 of your sites per your own basic plan. 20 sites=2 basic plans.
If you only have a few sites that you will 'sell', then set them up each with a basic plan and take the commission. You can still charge them for your services (setup, design, etc.), and LP will bill them directly for the hosting.
If you want to have a lot of sites for other people, and you are willing to handle billing and maintenance and stuff, get a reseller account and each of your customers will get an account under your reseller account. You pay for your account and all the sites under your reseller account. You charge your customers whatever you can get, for them you are the hosting service. The reseller accounts aren't as big or fancy as the basic (individual) account, though. They can't have multiple sites per account.
From what I've been told, if you want to sell sites with more space and bandwidth, you should go with dedicated hosting, (can slice up storage and bandwidth among clients yourself) then grow into Virtual Private Server, and so forth.
Hey, LP- Is the above correct?
Thanks Jay
