My site is a photography website, and I want to get more search traffic.  I actually get a moderate amount of traffic from Google web searches, but my recent images are not showing up in the Google image search.  I can't figure out why.  I made some recent changes to help that process along (e.g. putting the descriptive text immediately below the image, using the "alt" and "title" fields).

My newer photo pages are showing up rather quickly in the main Google index, but not the Image index. (A lot of my old images from my now-defunct photoblog still show up, but I'm not particularly interested in those right now). How long should this process take?

Here's an example of an image page:

Thanks for any help.

What you can do is enable the 'Enhanced Image Search' with Google at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

I don't know if it will include your images/ update them any faster however it will allow them to be searched for more effectively in the Image Search.

Another thing to consider is a Google sitemap. Some people have noticed negative and positive things from the Google Sitemaps, you can try it out and see how it may impact your web site.
