im wondering if anyone could tell me why my site would disappear from msn searches.
it was ranking first and second for about a year now but since msn has gone to live search, i cant even find it. it wont even come up if i type in the entire url for the page. google still works fine but as for msn something has happened. i have resubmitted twice in the past month but still nothing on msn.
thanks,

Have you made any big recent changes right before or right after you noticed your rankings going down?  Also might check to see if maybe a few places that were linking to you have stopped as well.  Good luck!

After you noticed this happen did you re-submit your site to live search?  I've noticed that my site doesn't have any links in live search while google has over 200.

Resubmitting won't do much good.  The spiders look for you by crawling links from pages they already know about.  That is the surefire way to be listed -- submitting is usually just a waste of time.

If your page could not be seen because of network outages, etc, the last time Live looked for you it may have marked you as no longer alive and will put you back when it can find you again.  It's just one possibility, but a fairly likely one.

what ive been seeing by looking around the net is that alot of people are having problems with their sites not being found since they started with the live search.
it still ranks top of the list on google and yahoo but no where to be found on msn. i have read that msn has just a small amount of percentages of users that use the search compared to google etc. but i know that alot of the people that visit my site DO use msn so it has hurt me drastically. if you do a search for msn live search problems youll see that it has affected people everywhere.

FYI, I think the Live search bot is called hotbot if you want to edit your robots.txt file to allow them to index your pages.

Oh good.  Glad to hear that.  I don't mind sonic promotion not being in live search as I just revamped my site and forum, so there's not really any content for them to index really anyway.
