Hi, I've been NOT wanting Google to index the images on any of my sites, but after searching in this forum, it appears many people DO want this. Is there a benefit to this? And if not, how do I disallow Google to not list my images? I did read of creating a robot file that disallows the images folders, but am worried this would deter Google from my sites completely. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Brennie

Well it pretty much comes down to if you want your images to show up in Google image search or not.  Benifit would be that it might bring in some new people to your web site - but I could see the cons too.  To turn away just the Google image bot, you would need to create or modify your robots.txt file to include this:

Code:
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /

Hope that helps!  If your looking for a good Robots.txt generator, I would suggest this one here:
