We got that sent to support@lunarpages.com !

I hate spam. Luckily it came through blank, with no attachment or text.

Viruses that claim to be from support@microsoft.com are very common. I get about 5 or 10 per day. Microsoft never really sends email from that address.

Hi all Smile
Actually the virus my co-manager and I both got the same day actually came from a Stanford Uni IP.
The return address was set as support@microsoft.
I contacted security at the uni just in case the poster wasnt aware that he was sending out virus's ( should that be virii Huh  )
But I havent as yet had any reply ( maybe they had so many they wont bother replying   Confused )

Yeah the Microsoft 'admin tool', 'virus cleaning tool', 'remote help tool', etc...

Microsoft will NEVER send any software ever attached to an email to their general registered customers or to general public.

Even if it's not from "microsoft", a good pattern is something in the body of the email to the effect of "hope you like it", or, "I think you will enjoy this.."  Those are a dead giveaway Smile

The Virus you are talking about is quite common.
I had 4 in one day last week, and fortunately my antivirus detected it and I was able to safely delete it.

It's called: SOBIG-B

If it infects your computer it copies your address book and mails itself out to everyone in there.

Not a big problem, just a nuisance, it's written to expire on 31/05/03 Razz

I got a few the other day and just got another today. I enabled spamassassin yesterday and it detected it. I think the subject was "screensaver."
FYI:(
