I logged on to my site today and it was all messed up. I checked the files and it appears I've been hacked, since I didn't personally put links to male enhancement products in my index page. I have no idea how to fix this. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Eww, yeah that does look pretty bad - looks like they inserted a bunch of random spam links in your index. I would suggest starting with the list of suggestions here:

Also, what version of phpbb were you using?

(moved this over to the security part of the forums for you too!)  Thumbs Up

Ok, thanks for moving it for me! And thanks for the suggestions. I'm sure I'll have some questions! I'm using phpbb version 3.

Alright, so how know what does and doesn't belong in my files? Obviously I know to delete the links and such, but I'm definitely not adept at any of this and am afraid of irreparably messing things up.

Do you have a backup?  Easiest thing might be to restore from it - or to restore from the Lunarpages backup.  You can find more information about that here:

No, I don't have a backup. And unfortunately this happened Friday so I think it's too far gone for lunarpages backup to work.

You might try downloading the version of phpbb you had installed from the official phpbb web site, and then just upload the index.php file from it into your public_html folder.  See if that might fix the situation.

That seems to have worked, but I know some of my files are still wrong. So here's another stupid question. What is supposed to be in the / public_html / includes / index file? Absolutely all that's in it are the porn links and nothing shows up when I open that file from the phpp that I downloaded. It it supposed to be empty?

See if you can match that directory to the phpbb version you downloaded - and if it has it, then what files are inside.  If it doesn't have it, or it has it empty - I'd say delete the files with the porn links inside.
